Biography
Bryan Kirschner is Vice President for Corporate Strategies at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner. He leads the corporate consulting practice, helping companies gain a competitive edge by understanding and changing opinion among customers, employees, policy makers, and stakeholders.
Kirschner is a ten-year veteran of Microsoft Corporation, most recently as the company’s first Director of Open Source strategy. In this role he drove development of the first company-wide positioning on open source software, work that Enterprise Software Analyst Matthew Aslett of the 451 Group described as “a fundamental shift in the rules of engagement” which “proves…that the war between proprietary and open source is over.”
In 2008 Kirschner was recognized as one of the “Top Twenty Storytellers” at Microsoft for his expertise in turning research into effective positioning and messaging.
Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked in public policy analysis and management. In 1994 he taught a seminar at Yale University on community policing and its strategic implications for police departments and municipalities.
Kirschner holds a BA in Philosophy from Yale University.
