ANALYST

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research has an opening for an Analyst in our Washington, DC office.  GQR is an internationally recognized survey research firm specializing in public opinion polls and focus groups.  We work around the world for political campaigns and parties, public interest organizations and foundations as well as corporate crisis management and positioning.  You can learn more about GQR at www.gqrr.com.

Responsibilities include: Act as analyst and project coordinator for clients – primarily domestic political candidates; assist company VPs and Principals in all aspects of survey research process including drafting questionnaires and focus group guidelines, coordinating internal research needs with field and programming departments, candidate and issue research, writing reports/ memos, presentation of findings, and proofing of documents and graphic presentations. 

Candidate profile: Problem solver with a career interest in public opinion research; detail-oriented person with excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to work fast, accurately and creatively under tight timelines and high pressure; strong project management skills; self-motivated team player.   Ideal candidate will have five to seven years experience with quantitative/qualitative political research, experience with political campaigns and/or an appropriate education background.

PROJECT COORDINATOR

The Project Coordinator will have at least a basic understanding of the progressive movement, and a strong commitment to progressive politics, issue campaigns, and Democratic candidates. He or she will also have a firm understanding of domestic U.S. politics, excellent communication skills, an interest in learning new skills, political smarts, a “master-of-all-trades” ability to take on new roles, and a keen sense of discretion.

Responsibilities include maintaining research schedule, coordinating and communicating with clients and internal teams, presentation and marketing activities with company management, staff and clients.  Additional responsibilities include scheduling travel, handling expenses and researching information needed by the Domestic team or others within the firm.  Position requires a team player with ability to multi-task and strong organizational, communication, writing and editing skills. Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Democratic politics in project management, project coordination or administrative executive assistant role.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • As the point of contact for multiple relationships outside the firm, the Project Coordinator will need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the firm in a professional manner.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with PCs, Microsoft Office products, and presentation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications abilities.
  • “Get-it-done” attitude, along with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Flexibility and team-oriented attitude that is needed in a small firm.

FIELD DEPARTMENT INTERN (PAID)

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research is an internationally recognized survey research firm specializing in public opinion polls and focus groups for political campaigns and parties, public interest organizations and foundations, as well as corporate crisis management and positioning.  You can learn more about GQR at www.gqrr.com.

The Field Department coordinates, monitors, and supports the quantitative and qualitative research process both in the U.S. and internationally.  The Field Intern will assist Research Associates with the fielding of research: coordinate the research schedule with vendors and analysts, manage daily communications with vendors, and monitor the overall quality and timeliness of vendor work.  Additional duties include: running voterfile counts, list development, gathering population demographics, organizing initial vendor costs, and analyzing costs, research metrics and organization of project specifics.   

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, some professional/internship experience, and be a proactive self-starter who works well within a tight-knit team.  The candidate must be extremely well organized, and a creative thinker with a can-do attitude to go the extra mile.  Ideally, the candidate would have market research or political campaign experience, VAN proficiency, statistical software experience (STATA or SPSS), advanced proficiency in Excel, and the ability to learn new skills/software.  Spanish proficiency is a plus.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously with superior prioritization skills, to work quickly, accurately and creatively under tight timelines and high pressure, with outstanding attention to detail.

DOMESTIC INTERN (PAID)

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner has an opening for a paid internship in our Washington, DC office focusing on domestic political issues and corporate marketing. This internship will run from June through September and is 40 hours per week.

We are seeking a full-time intern with excellent research, communication and organizational skills. Interns gain an inside perspective on public opinion polling, learning what it is, how it works and how it's used in political campaigns; gain a better understanding of the importance of appropriate interpersonal skills, communication and teamwork; understand career path possibilities within the polling industry; and have an opportunity to work on a poll in some capacity.

Past office experience and ability to handle multiple tasks are necessities. Familiarity with MS Office required, and an interest in public opinion research/campaign management is greatly appreciated. Foreign language proficiency is a plus.

DOMESTIC TEAM INTERNSHIP

 

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner will be hiring full-time interns to be a part of our domestic teams for Summer 2013. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on campaign and research experience working for our domestic clients. It is a great place to learn about the survey research process and data collection techniques. Interns will get an inside perspective on domestic public opinion polling – learning what it is, how it works, and how it’s used in political campaigns.  

 

Past office experience and ability to handle multiple tasks are necessities. Familiarity with MS Office and an interest in public opinion research/campaign management is required. Applicants must be able to commit to a full-time work schedule.
